Louis XIII of France (1601-1643): fine complete letter of 1625, written as king, the salutation and signature Louis in the king's hand, 16 lines of text in another hand, endorsement at foot in a further hand. The letter concerns the activities of some field marshals in Sedan and the movement of horses under the charge of Louis XIII's cousin the Duke of Bouillon. Foolscap sheet with watermark of the royal monogram, remnants of the royal seal, three lines of instruction for delivery on reverse. Tipped on to an old album leaf. Fine.
