The Central China Religious Tract Society's Union Hymn Book, 1890s, full leather, gilt, Chinese text, the Index in English, printed on rice paper, inscription at top of first page of the index dated 1894, approx 340pp; together with a Chinese edition of The Holy Bible of similar date, quarter-leather, gilt. Both very clean internally. Some minor wear to the hymn book, the bible with few abrasions to front cover, rear board with upper corner chipped away and wear to upper corner of the text block (the printed text unaffected). (2)

The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and William M. Rossetti: The Germ and Art and Poetry, Elliot Stock 1901, a facsimile of the 1850 edition comprising Issues Nos.1 to 4, William Rossetti's Preface, and a four-page autograph letter from Rossetti to a ‘Mr Ireland' on various (unrelated) matters. All in a fine solander box bound in quarter-leather. Some faults to the printed wraps of The Germ and Art and Poetry, Issue No.2 with a large piece missing from the front cover.

Original brownish-red cloth with title in black, worn and faded; neat ownership signature to front endpaper; stamp of a Cairo bookseller to rear endpaper, a few minor tone spots.
