MORE DETAILSWilliam Camden Britannia: or a Chorographical Description of Great Britain and Ireland, the Second Edition, revised by Edmund Gibson, 1722, printed by Mary Matthews for Awnsham Churchill, folio, 2 vols, full contemporary sheep, chipped/worn in places, skilfully rebacked, with new gilt title labels, inner hinges strengthened; b/w frontispiece; titles in red & black; complete with the 51 double-page Maps by Robert Morden and 11 other single-page plates, all in very good condition, in their original uncoloured state; fore-edge of map of Kent creased; errata leaf at end of vol.2 rather grubby o/w very clean internally with occasional minor imperfections; occasional light pencil annotations in margin. A very good set.
