‘The Ettrick Shepherd' [pseud. for James Hogg] The Shepherd's Calendar – Dreams and Apparitions, in Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine Vols. XXI & XXII, William Blackwood, May to December 1827. bound in contemporary half-leather, gilt, over marbled boards, some minor wear; fine internally, no inscriptions. These two volumes contain the first appearance of James Hogg's Dreams and Apparitions in four parts, part of his sequence of supernatural stories collectively titled "The Shepherd's Calendar".

Susan Hill and Stephen Mallatratt, signed Theatre Programme for The Woman in Black, The Lyric, Hammersmith, 1989; autographed on the centre-fold by Susan Hill, the Director Peter Herford, and the two actors Charles Kay and John Duttine. Stephen Mallatratt's adaptation of Susan Hill's famous novel was first performed at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough in December 1987 and transferred to the Lyric Hammersmith for a run that lasted from 11th January to 11th February 1989. The previous owner obtained these signatures on the occasion of the 25th January performance and has made a note to that effect in a small inscription at the top right corner of page one. A4, 16pp, card wraps.
