A Medieval Monastic Missal, probably 15th Century. Illuminated manuscript on vellum, incomplete, comprising 4pp summary of contents, 54pp of text, and a 2pp commentary in another hand. Illuminated initials throughout, one page with floral decoration in margin. Occasional contemporary marginal annotation. Darkening throughout especially the contents pages and one page of the main text, o/w good condition. Ownership inscription in Latin states “This book was given to Samuel Harvey by his friend Thomas Fearnhead in 1780”. Disbound, several loose pages, 14.7 x 10.5cm. [Provenance: obtained by the vendor's father from Peter Eaton Booksellers of London in 1958].

The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and William M. Rossetti: The Germ and Art and Poetry, Elliot Stock 1901, a facsimile of the 1850 edition comprising Issues Nos.1 to 4, William  Rossetti's Preface, and a four-page autograph letter from Rossetti to a ‘Mr Ireland' on various (unrelated) matters. All in a fine solander box bound in quarter-leather. Some faults to the printed wraps of The Germ and Art and Poetry, Issue No.2 with a large piece missing from the front cover.

Travels in Central India and in the Presidencies of Bombay and Bengal, revised by Lt.Col. Buckle, Bickers and Son, 1878; tall 4to, original decorated cloth, gilt, complete with 317 wood-engravings and 6 coloured maps. Backstrip dulled with couple of small tears, frayed at extremities; front hinge very weak, frontispiece & title page loose o/w VG internally, clean pages and maps. Ownership signature to front endpaper dated 1927.

Includes Omnibus timetables, and unusual timetable for “Swift Packet Boats” on the Dunkinfield to Marple Canal. Very scarce.
