Boer War letter from 2nd Lieut. Bartram Romilly, Scots Guards, to his mother Lady Arabella Romilly referring to military actions at Ladysmith & elsewhere, 1900; complete with the original cover endorsed No stamp / on active service, and cancelled BRITISH ARMY S.AFRICA datestamp. Romilly served in the Boer War from 1899 to 1902, was twice mentioned in despatches receiving the Queen's Medal with 5 clasps and was awarded the D.S.O. in 1902.
